In a study comparable to OECD Guideline 404 with acceptable deviations (three test site per animal, clinical signs not reported and no details of test material) six albino rabbits were exposed for 3 minute, 1 hour and 4 hour period of time under semi occlusive dressing to a patch of 1 inch x 1 inch. At the end of the exposure periods, one patch from each animal was removed. Readings were performed after removal of the patches and 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours after application. Necrosis was observed at two animals at 3 minute exposure and all six animals at 1 and 4 hour exposures. Based on the results of this study, the test material (trade name Clearlink 1000) is corrosive to the skin of rabbit under test conditions. The study was conducted in compliance with GLP.
Results of this study would lead to the classification of the substance as a corrosive to the skin in accordance with the criteria set out in Directive 67/548/EC and Regulation (EC) 1272/2008. This study is classified as acceptable and satisfies the guideline requirements for the skin irritation/corrosion study. The result of this study is used as a key value for hazard assessment and classification and labeling.

Clearlink 1000 is classified C; R35 according to Annex VI of Regulation 67/548/EEC and Skin Corr.1A and Eye Dam.1 according to Annex I of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
