Clearlink 1000 is toxic to aquatic environment. The lowest toxicity value is the 96 -hours EC50 (growth rate) for algae (Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata), 0.24 mg/l (NOEC of 0.0079 mg/l), as per OECD 201, triggering Clearlink 1000 to be classified as aquatic acute hazard class 1. The aquatic short-term toxicity EC50 (48 h, immobilisation) to invertebrates (Daphnia magna) is 27 mg/l (EPA 40 CFR 767.1300), and the LC50 (96 h, mortality) to fish (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is > 570 mg/l (EPA 40 CFR 767.1300). Clearlink 1000 exhibit also some toxicity to micro-organisms according to the results of activated sludge respiration inhibition test (OECD 209). Activated sludge respiration inhibition 3-hour EC50 value is 160 mg/l and EC10 42 mg/l, respectively.
