Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
21 March 2012 - 23 March 2012
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Remarks on result:
other: No exothermic reaction, and thus no self-ignition temperature of the test item was observed over the temperature range tested.

At the end of the test, the test item was off-white blocks (the amount present in the cube at the start of the test had decreased to 10% of the starting volume).

Conclusions:
Neodymium trinitrate was determined not to be auto-flammable under the conditions of the test. No self-ignition temperature was observed up to 400°C (corrected value).

Description of key information

Neodymium trinitrate was concluded not to be auto flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

An experimental study performed under GLP compliance and in accordance with EU A.16 method was flagged as a key study and assigned a Klimisch score of 1. It revealed that no self-ignition temperature was observed up to 400°C.
