Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Justification for type of information:
In accordance with annex XI of REACH, flammability(solids) is not technically possible for this liquid substance.
The substance is a liquid under standard conditions (IUCLID section 4.1, CSR section 1.3) with a freezing point of -50 °C (see IUCLID section 4.2, CSR section 1.3), so the substance should not be classified as a flammable solid.
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Conclusions:
In accordance with annex XI of REACH, flammability(solids) is not technically possible for this liquid substance.

Executive summary:

In accordance with annex XI of REACH, flammability(solids) is not technically possible for this liquid substance.

The substance is a liquid under standard conditions (IUCLID section 4.1, CSR section 1.3) with a freezing point of  -50 °C (see IUCLID section 4.2, CSR section 1.3), so the substance should not be classified as a flammable solid.

Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the experience in production or handling shows that the substance does not react with water, e.g. the substance is manufactured with water or washed with water
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Endpoint:
flammable liquids: obsolete as covered by section 'Flash point'
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Conclusions:
The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid.
Executive summary:

The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid.

Description of key information

As the substance is a liquid, the relevant test for flammable properties is the Flash Point measurement.

A fully reliable experimental study is presented in IUCLID section 4.11 : flash point of Sinodor CQ is 192.5 °C.

In addition, from the structural formulae of its constituents SINODOR CQ is not expected to react significantly with water at 20°C, and will no way emit flammable gases. For example, during the determination of the water solubility presented in IUCLID section 4.8, no reaction of SINODOR CQ with water was observed. Therefore it can be concluded that the contact of SINODOR CQ with water or damp air will not lead to the development of dangerous amounts of gas or gases which may be highly flammable.

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008 (CLP) criteria, the measured flash point is above the threshold value of 60°C, therefore the substance is NOT considered as a flammable liquid.

According to UN Globally Harmonised System (GHS) criteria, the measured flash point is above the threshold value of 93°C, therefore the substance is NOT considered as a flammable liquid.
