Description of key information

The key skin sensitisation study, a reliable adjuvant study conducted according to OECD 406, found that the test material (as supplied, 69% CHPTAC) gave no evidence of sensitisation potential during a subsequent challenge with a 30% solution of the test material in saline.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

In a dermal sensitization study (OECD 406) with CHPTAC (69% aqueous solution), young adult female guinea-pigs of the Dunkin-Hartley strain were tested using the method of Magnusson and Kligman. No dermal reactions were seen when challenging with a 30% solution of the test material in saline. In this study, CHPTAC (69%) is not a dermal sensitizer.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available

Justification for classification or non-classification

In a dermal sensitisation study according to OECD 406, female guinea pigs were tested negative for CHPTAC (69%). Based on the results, no classification for CHPTAC (69%) is warranted.
