Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusion on Classification

Data on the short term toxicity of the substance to aquatic organisms are not available. Therefore appropriate read across data for two trophic levels (aquatic invertebrates and microalgae) were used for assessment. No toxic effects were identified towards the tested organisms. Furthermore, the substance is ready biodegradable. Therefore, diammonium tartrate (CAS 3164-29-2) is not classified and labelled for environmental hazards according to the consolidated version of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and further amendments (ATPs).
