Additional information

Diammonium tartrate (CAS 3164-29-2) is readily biodegradable based on experimental data with the substance and supporting read across data from disodium tartrate (CAS 868-18-8). Considering the high water solubility of 428 g/L (at 20 °C) and the low log Kow of -5.6 (at 20 °C), the main compartment for environmental distribution is expected to be the water column. Evaporation into air and the transport through the atmospheric compartment is considered low based on the vapour pressure of 1.1E-03 Pa (at 20 °C) as well as deposition in sediment and soil is considered to be less of relevance.
