Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Acute data:

For fish, the lowest reliable data point for ammonium molybdate was put forward for hazard assessment purposes:

- 96h-LC50of 237 mg Mo/L for the fishO. mykiss(HRC, 1994); Mo-salt was (NH4)2Mo2O7,

For invertebrates (test organism:Daphnia magna) the lowest reliable data points for ammonium molybdatewas put forward for hazard assessment purposes:

- 48h-LC50of 79 mg Mo/L for the cladoceranD. magna(HRC, 1994). This value cooresponds to a EC50 (48 -h) of approx 221 mg/L for dipotassium tetraoxomolybdate. Mo-salt was(NH4)2Mo2O7

No algal toxicity data were generated with ammonium molybdate. Therefore read-across from reliable data that were generated with sodium molybdate were considered for this trophic level. For the most sensitive strain ofP. subcapitatathat was used in reliable study reports, 4 acute data points were availabe. The geometric mean of those 4 data points was 333.1 mg/L. This value is considered as a reliable acute algal toxicity reference value for hazard assessment purposes (e.g., classification).
