Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Two acute toxicity tests were listed for this endpoint. One study was assigned a Klimish score of 1, while the other study was assigned a Klimish score of 2 based on the lack of analytical measures of test solution concentrations. Both studies were conducted with Daphnia magna, and the 48-hour EC50 values (based on immobility) were reported as 785 and 970 mg/L. In accordance with ECHA guidance (R.10.2.2), the geometric mean of the toxicity endpoints, if within an order of magnitude, can be used to calculate a species value for a given endpoint. Thus, the key parameter for the acute invertebrate endpoint was the LC50 value of 873 mg/L, which was the geometric mean of two 48-hour EC50 values (785 and 970 mg/L) reported for ethyl 3-ethoxypropanoate in tests with Daphnia magna.
