Additional information

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

Test was carried out to determine short term toxicity of test chemical to Daphnia magna in accordance with OECD Guideline 202 (Daphnia sp. Acute Immobilisation Test). Study was conducted for 24 hours of exposure period. The median effective concentration of test chemical was determined to be 210 mg/L.

Toxicity to aquatic algae:

Short term toxicity study was conducted for 72 hrs for determining the effect of test chemical on aquatic algae Selenastrum capricornutum. The study was performed in accordance with the OECD Guideline 201 (Alga, Growth Inhibition Test) in a static system. On the basis of the effect of test chemical on biomass of the test organism Selenastrum capricornutum, the 72 hr NOEC and EC50 value was determined to be 32 and 76 mg/l, respectively. Thus, test chemical was considered as toxic to aquatic algae and hence, considered to be classified in 'aquatic chronic category 3' as per the CLP classification criteria.
