No terrestrial toxicity studies were available with Propane-1, 2 -diyl diacetate (DOWANOL PGDA). However, PGDA is classified as readily biodegradable. The risk assessment shows that the PEC/PNEC ratio is clearly < 1 indicating no need for further information or testing. According to REACH Annex IX requirements, long-term toxicity testing shall only be considered when the chemical safety assessment indicates the need for further investigations. Hence, sediment testing can be waived for PGDA.
