First-aid measures

This Guidence for safe use is applicable for the substance in solution with organic solvents.
4.1 Description of first aid measures.
Inhalation:Move into fresh air and keep at rest. Perform artificial respiration if breathing has stopped. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.
Skin contact:Remove contaminated clothing immediately and wash skin with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation persists after washing.
Eye contact:Promptly wash eyes with plenty of water while lifting the eye lids. Make sure to remove any contact lenses from the eyes before rinsing. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.
Ingestion:Immediately give a couple of glasses of water or milk, provided the victim is fully conscious. DO NOT induce vomiting if swallowed chemical is dissolved in petroleum-based material. Danger of aspiration and development of chemical pneumonia. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.
4.2. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Acute symptoms and effects:If material enters lungs, symptoms may include coughing, choking, wheezing, difficulty breathing, chest tightness, shortness of breath and / or fever. Respiratory symptoms may be delayed several hours after exposure.
The substance may cause defatting of the skin and symptoms may include a burning sensation and / or a dried / cracked appearance.
Ingestion can cause nausea and vomiting. Vapours may cause drowsiness and dizziness.
4.3. Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed. No information required.

Fire-fighting measures

This Guidence for safe use is applicable for the substance in solution with organic solvents.
5.1. Extinguishing media.
Suitable extinguishing media:Larger fires: Foam. Water spray, fog or mist.
Small fires: Powder. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Dry chemicals, sand, dolomite etc.
Improper extinguishing media:Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the fire.
5.2. Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Fire and explosion hazards:Solvent vapours may form explosive mixtures with air. Vapours are heavier than air and may spread near ground to sources of ignition.
Hazardous combustion products:Carbon monoxide (CO). Carbon dioxide (CO2). Sulphurous gases (SOx).
5.3. Advice for firefighters.
Fire fighting procedures:Containers close to fire should be removed or cooled with water. Avoid water in straight hose stream; will scatter and spread fire. Wear suitable respiratory equipment.

Accidental release measures

This Guidence for safe use is applicable for the substance in solution with organic solvents.
6.1. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures.
Personal protection measures:Avoid inhalation of vapours and contact with skin and eyes. Wear protective gloves and, in case of splashes, goggles/face shield too. In case of inadequate ventilation, use respiratory protection.
6.2. Environmental precautions.
Environmental precautionary measures.Do not allow to enter drains, sewers or watercourses. Contact local authorities in case of spillage to drain/aquatic environment.
6.3. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up.
Cleaning method:Large Spillages: Dam and absorb spillages with sand, earth or other non-combustible material.
Small Spillages: Containers with collected spillage must be properly labelled with correct contents and hazard symbol.
6.4 Reference to other sections. See section 7, 8 and 13 (in the SDS)

Handling and storage

This Guidence for safe use is applicable for the substance in solution with organic solvents.
7.1. Precautions for safe handling.
Handling:Static electricity and formation of sparks must be prevented. Storage tanks and other containers must be grounded. Avoid inhalation of vapours. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid eating, drinking and smoking when using the product.
7.2. Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities.
Storage:Store at moderate temperatures in dry, well ventilated area. Keep containers tightly closed. May attack some plastics, rubber and coatings.
Conditions To Avoid:Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame.
7.3. Specific end use(s).See section 1.2(in the SDS)

Exposure controls / personal protection

This Guidence for safe use is applicable for the substance in solution with organic solvents.
8.1. Control parameters
Occupational Exposure limit values. No recommendation given.
8.2. Exposure controls
Occupational exposure limits:Provide adequate general and local exhaust ventilation. Use engineering controls to reduce air contamination to permissible exposure level.
Respiratory protection:If ventilation is insufficient, suitable respiratory protection must be provided. Respiratory protection with gas filter A (brown).
Hand protection:Use protective gloves made of: Polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Viton rubber (fluor rubber). The most suitable glove must be chosen in consultation with the gloves supplier, who can inform about the breakthrough time of the glove material.
Eye protection:Use safety goggles or face shield in case of splash risk.

Disposal considerations

This Guidence for safe use is applicable for the substance in solution with organic solvents.
13.1. Waste treatment methods.
Specify the appropriate methods of disposal: Dispose of waste and residues in accordance with local authority requirements.
Contaminated packaging is hazardous waste.
Metal recycling: drum to be provided to metal recycling needs to be emptied thoroughly. Draining should be done at temperatures > 15 ° C. Turn the empty drum upside down, slightly tilted (about 10 degrees) with slit (opening) in the lowest position. Let the last residue drain for at least 10 minutes until the drum is drip-free.
