Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

As the test substance Reaction product of 2-hydroxybenzoic acid, styrene and oxozinc does not contain any chemical groups associated with explosive properties, a test as described in Test Guideline A.14 of EC No 440/2008 was replaced by a theoretical based evaluation. Reaction product of 2-hydroxybenzoic acid, styrene and oxozinc does not contain any substances resp. reactive groups which are listed in Annex 6 of the „Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods“. Therefore, explosive properties are not expected and a test was not performed.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the chemical groups present in Reaction product of 2-hydroxybenzoic acid, styrene and oxozinc and experience in handling and use, and taking into account the provisions laid down in Council Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) and Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), no classification and labelling is warranted with regard to explosive properties.
