Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Based on modelling and read-across, it is assumed no significnat biodegradation from screening studies.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

Ready biodegradation – this study was not provided as part of the data set from ECHA and since this would have been a requirement for testing with the original NONS notification, it can only be assumed that a waiver was accepted at the time of Notification.

The substance has been assessed by EPISuite and found to have a negligible biodegradation potential. This is in common with this class of substance and a potential read-across substance is a material registered as ‘’Anthraquinoneacid dye,01-2119452058-40-XXXX. This is ‘confidential’ in the public disseminated dossiers. Other anthraquinone registrations confirm very low levels of read biodegradation. A waiver is therefore proposed in that there is no expected biodegradation from the short term 28 day screening studies.
