Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Details on results:
The Partition Coefficient (P) for TBS in 1-Octanol and Water, denoted by POW, was calculated from
the ration:

Pow = concentration of TBS in octanol/concentration of TBS in water.
The Partition Coefficient is also often given in
the form of its logarithm to base ten (log P)
Conclusions:
The partition coefficient of TBS was LogP = 4.44 at pH7
Executive summary:

The partition coefficient of TBS was assessed using OECD 107 at 3 different octinal rations (1:1, 1:2 and 2:1) at pH 4, 7 and 9. Log P was 4.73, 4.44 and 4.81 at pH 4, 7 and 9, respectively.

Description of key information

The partition coefficient was assessed using OECD Guideline 107 at 3 different octanol ratios (1:1, 1:2 and 2:1) and at pH 4, 7 and 9.

The Log P was 4.73, 4.44 and 4.81 at pH 4, 7 and 9, respectively.

The log P at pH 7 was selected as most representative of environmental conditions.
