Any other information on results incl. tables
Under the conditions of the present study with Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, 1,6-hexanediyl-bis(2-(2-(1-ethylpentyl)-3-oxazolidinyl)ethyl)carbamate inhibited both the growth rate and the yield of this fresh water algae species significantly at WAFs prepared at loading rates of 32 mg/L and higher.
The EL50 for growth rate inhibition (72h-ERL50) was beyond the tested concentration range, i.e. exceeded a WAF prepared at a loading rate of 100 mg/L.
The EL50 for yield inhibition (72h-EYL50), based on loading rate, was 32 mg/L with a 95% confidence interval ranging from 25 to 41 mg/L.
The 72h-NOEL for both growth rate and yield inhibition equalled a WAF prepared at a loading rate of 10 mg/L.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- The EL50 for growth rate inhibition (72h-ERL50) was >100 mg/L
- Executive summary:
The algal growth inhibition test was conducted according to the OECD Guideline 201 (Alga, Growth Inhibition Test). Due to the extremely low water solubility the test has been conducted by preparation of a Water Accomdated Fraction (WAF).
