Description of key information
The study results indicate that the read-across substance is not readily biodegradable, however there is sufficient information in the studies to demonstrate that the substance is inherently biodegradable and will not persist in the environment.

Extended OECD 301 B and OECD 301 D tests are available for the read-across substance DimerFA_PEPA_PAA.
In the extended 74 -day OECD 301 B test there was high variation between replicates, with some replicates showing 70% degradation by the end of the test, and other replicates with 0% degradation. These results indicate that the test substance will ultimately degrade in the environment. However, based on the results the substance is not considered readily biodegradable.
In a supporting OECD 301 D study the test substance was 15% degraded after 28 days, and was 19% degraded after 60 days. Based on this information, it is considered that DimerFA PEPA PAA is not considered readily biodegradable. However, the results indicate that the substance will ultimately degrade in the environment.
It is considered that these sufficient degradation has been observed in these studies to consider the read-across substance inherently biodegradable, not fulfilling specific criteria. Further to this the results indicate that the substance will not persist in the environment.
