Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: see 'Remark'
Remarks:
The reliability is rated 2 because the study followed the standard guideline of reference (EU A.10 method), which describes a procedure designed to evaluate this endpoint. The results were reviewed for reliability and assessed as valid. Nevertheless no information was available wheter or not the study was conducted under GLP condition.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
In a preliminary essay, it was observed that the propagation time for combustion over 200 mm was superior to 240 s. No further testing was required.
SEPISOL FAST YELLOW MG-DPG is not considered as highly flammable.
Executive summary:

A test to determine if Sepisol Fast Yellow MG-DPG is a flammable solid has been carried out by following the EU method A.10.

The test material is formed into an mould powder train of 250 mm length, 20 mm width and 10 mm height on a low heat-conducting base plate. The powder train was ignited at one end with a micro burner (minimum diameter 5mm), ignition time of 2 minutes.

In a preliminary essay, it was observed, whether the combustion propagated over a distance of 200 mm within 4 minutes. If the time was longer than 4 minutes (240 s), no further testing was required according to guideline. It was observed that the propagation time was superior to 240 s. No further testing was required.

It has been concluded that Sepisol Fast Yellow MG-DPG is not a highly flammable solid according to the CLP regulation.
