Description of key information

1,5-Naphthalenediol is rapidly and nearly completely absorbed after oral appliation whereas the absorption following denrmal application to the back of rats is only about 7.7-9.5 % of the applied dose. The testsubstance is very rapidly distributed within the organism and nearly totaly excreted within 24 hours mainly via urine.

Additional information

1,5-Naphthalenediol is rapidly and nearly completely absorbed after oral application to rats whereas the absorption following denrmal application is only about 7.7 -9.5 % of the applied dose. Formulated as standard hair-dye and tested in vitro according to OECD guideline 428 the absorption through the skin discs ranges between 0.74 and 0.88 % of the applied dose

Following oral application the testsubstance is very rapidly distributed within the organism and nearly totaly excreted within 24 hours. The main excretion route is via urine with 94.3 % of the applied dose. Feces contain only 6.2 % of the applied dose..
