Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Phototransformation in air is not relevant due to low vapour pressure (< 0.0001 Pa).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Experimental results on phototransformation of Fatty acids, C8-10, triesters with trimethylolpropane (CAS 91050-89-4) are not available. Calculated values for substance components using AOPWIN v1.92 indicate a rapid photodegradation by reaction with hydroxyl radicals (24 h day; OH-concentration: 0.5E+06 OH/cm³; Blum, 2011). The half-life of the C10 FA component of Fatty acids, C8-10, triesters with trimethylolpropane was estimated to be 10.32 hours. For the C8 FA component of Fatty acids, C8-10, triesters with trimethylolpropane a half-life of 13.37 hours was calculated. However, due to the low vapour pressure of the components (< 0.0001 Pa, SPARC v 4.5 calculation) the substance is not expected to exist in the vapour phase in the atmosphere. As this study is not a standard information requirement in REACh and there is no indication from the Chemical Safety Assessment (CSA) on the need to investigate further the fate and behaviour of the substance (Annex X requirement), no further testing is considered necessary for the substance.
