Conclusions:
The EC50/48 hours of ZK 156454 to Daphnia magna was calculated to be 24.6 mg/I (95% confidence limits: 19.4 - 31.6 mg/I) on the basis of
measured concentrations. This means that ZK 156454 is slightly toxic to Daphnia magna.
Executive summary:

The purpose of this study was to determine the acute toxicity (immobilization, EC50/48 hours) of Triamin-Dihydrochlorid (ZK 156454) with Daphnia magna in a definitive test in order to evaluate the aquatic toxicity. The study was conducted in agreement with the guideline of the OECD, no. 202.

20 juvenile Daphnia magna were used for each test solution of ZK 156454 and 20 for the tap water control. The Daphnia were exposed tor aperiod of 48 hours under static conditions. Immobilization was recorded at 24 hours and 48 hours.

The nominal test concentrations were: 0,10,12.5,25,50 and 100 mg/L.

Samples tor the concentration analysis by HPLC in combination with UV detection were taken at the beginning of exposure and at 48 hours. The analytical results gave concentrations of 6.9 mg/L, 9.9 mg/L, 22.3 mg/L, 48.5 mg/L and 93.7 mg/L.

Immobilized Daphnia were observed at 24 hours only at the two highest concentrations. At 48 hours, immobilized Daphnia were found at all concentrations, with 100% immobiization at the highest concentration.
