PBT assessment

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Persistence Assessment

Due to the physico-chemical properties of the substance, in particular the very low water solubility of 10.8 µg/L, it was not possible to apply a standard test method to assess the biodegradation potential.

Since the stability of the substance is a desired application property, it can be assumed that the substance is not or only very slowly biodegraded and the P-criterion is accepted.

Bioaccumulation Assessment

Due to the low log pow of 1.06, the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation. The log pow of the substance is very much lower than the threshold value of the screening criterion for B (log pow > 4.5). The B-criterion is not fulfilled.

Toxicity Assessment

The substance is non toxic to mammalian and aquatic organisms. The substance is neither classified for environmental toxicity nor as germ cell mutagen (1A, 1B), carcinogen (1A, 1B), reproductive toxicant (1A, 1B, 2) or specific target organ toxicant after repeated exposure (Cat 1 or 2). It can be concluded that the substance has no toxic properties.
