Additional information

Tetraethylene glycol, by virtue of is very low vapor pressure, very low log Kow value (-2.02), and miscibility in water, is expected to be associated primarily with aquatic compartments in the environment. The distribution of tetraethylene glycol in the environment was examined using Fugacity Model Level III. Based on Fugacity Model Level III calculations, 55% is expected to be found in soil (pore water) and 45% in surface water. The substance has virtually no potential for evaporation from water or soil into the atmosphere; rather, it will remain associated with the water component of the environment to which it is emitted, where it will rapidly and completely biodegrade.
