Effects on fertility

Description of key information

The effects assessment on fertility and developmental toxicity properties of pNMC oxide is based on the toxicological properties of its constituents (oxide forms of Mn, Co, Ni) (Assessment Entity Approach).

A reliable assessment, based on the CLP mixture rules and using the MeClas Classification Tool, was conducted on a generic pNMC oxide sample (composition based on worst-case concentrations for each constituent, as defined in IUCLID section 1.2). According to MeClas, the assessed generic pNMC oxide composition is classified for the reproductive and developmental endpoint (Cat.1).

Effects on developmental toxicity

Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with the criteria for classification as defined in Annex I, Regulation 1272/2008, pNMC oxide requires a classification for reproductive and developmental toxicity (H360 Fd. May damage fertility. Suspected of damaging the unborn child).
