Results

The retention times, capacity factor and log10 Koc value determined for the sample are shown in the following table:

 Injection

 Retention Time

(minutes)

 Capacity Factor

(k')

 Log10 k' Log10 Koc
 1 9.213 4.3258 0.63607 3.34
 2 9.218 4.3287 0.63635 3.24

Mean log10 Koc: 3.24

Adsorption coefficient: 1.72 x 103

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
The adsorption coefficient of the test item has been determined to be 1.72 x 10^3, log10 Koc 3.24. The result classifies the test item as having low mobility.
Executive summary:

Introduction

The Adsorption/Desorption coefficient of the test item was undertaken using a HPLC screening method, designed to be compatible with the following guidelines:

  • Method C19 Adsorption Coefficient of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008

  • Method 121 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 22 January 2001. Method 7

Method

The test system utilised a high-performance liquid chromatograph and a commercially available cyanopropyl reverse phase HPLC column containing lipophilic and polar moieties was used.
