Executive summary:

The present study was conducted to determine the vapor pressure of test item RM1004983by thermogravimetric method. The test item was placed on the surface of platinum pan. For the measurement, the pan was attached to the hang down wire of thermogravimetric analyzer. A stepwise temperature program was used to obtain the weight loss of the dried test item. Similar procedure was followed for the reference standard (benzoic acid dried at 105°C) with different temperature program. The vapour pressure of the test item was calculated by using the constants which are obtained from the reference standard’s weight loss.

The vapour pressure obtained for the test item was0.520132Pa at 20°C and 0.70536Pa at 25°C.
