One ready biodegradation study is available for 3-(Hexyloxy)-1.2-propanediol (CAS No. 10305 -38 -1). This key study was carried out following OECD Guideline 301B and according to GLP (Desmares-Koopmans, 2013). Under aerobic conditions the test substance was incubated with the inoculum containing microorganisms from a domestic sewage plant. After the test period of 29 days, biodegradation reached 19%, based on CO2 evolution.
In conclusion, 3-(Hexyloxy)-1.2-propanediol (CAS No. 10305 -38 -1) can be considered as not biodegradable under the test conditions according to OECD criteria.
