Preliminary test

The calculated value was 8.94. Therefore, the partition coefficient n-octanol/water of the test item at room temperature was determined by HPLC method.

Main test

The results showed a significant deviation from the calculated value by Episuite. Additionally, it was difficult to find suitable conditions for the detection of the test item. Therefore, only >6.5 was given as final result for the partition coefficient n-octanol/water which is above the highest log Pow value of calibration substances (4,4'-DDT).

Conclusions:
The log partition coefficient n-octanol/water was determined by using the HPLC method and was found to be greater than 6.5.
Executive summary:

The partition coefficient n-octanol/water of the test item was determined according to OECD Guideline 117 and EU Method A.24. Based on the preliminary result obtained from EPI Suite, the log Pow value was determined by using the HPLC Method. The log Pow of the test item was found to be greater than 6.5 and is thus above the highest log Pow value of calibration substances (4,4'-DDT).

Description of key information

The log Pow of the test item was found to be greater than 6.5.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The partition coefficient n-octanol/water of the test item was determined according to OECD Guideline 117 and EU Method A.24 (reference 4.7 -1). Based on the preliminary result obtained from EPI Suite, the log Pow value was determined by using the HPLC Method. The log Pow of the test item was found to be greater than 6.5 and is thus above the highest log Pow value of calibration substances (4,4'-DDT).
