Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
oxidising liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

In accordance with the CLP Regulation Annex I, oxidising liquid means a liquid substance or mixture which, while in itself not necessarily combustible, may, generally by yielding oxygen, cause, or contribute to, the combustion of other material. The submission substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials, for example on the basis of the chemical structure (e.g. organic substances not containing oxygen or halogen atoms and these elements are not chemically bonded to nitrogen or oxygen). Furthermore, according to section 2.14.4.1 of Annex I to the CLP-regulation an organic liquid does not have to be assessed for oxidising properties if the substance contains oxygen, fluorine or chlorine and these elements are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen. This is the case for the submission substance, and it is therefore considered non-oxidising.
