Additional information

In Annex IX Section 9.1.5 column 2 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, it is laid down that long-term testing on invertebrates shall be proposed by the registrant if the chemical safety assessment indicates the need to investigate further the effects on fish. According to REACH Guidance, R.10, table R.10-4 (ECHA, 2008), in the absence of data derived from chronic aquatic tests an assessment factor of 1000 is applied on the lowest acute value to derive the PNECaqua. The PEC of the test substance is estimated in parallel so the risk assessment can be performed. As the PEC/PNEC ratio is < 1, no risk for the aquatic environment is assumed. Environmental exposure through widespread uses by professionals and consumers can be excluded as only industrial uses with adequate risk mitigating measures are applicable for the substance. Therefore, a chronic test on aquatic invertebrates is not provided.
