- Density of the test solution: 1.000 g/cm3 (20.1 °C)

- Temperature: 20.0 - 20.1 °C

- Time lines of the determination of the surface tensions: Start of measurement was 20.4 minutes after transfer of the test solution into the test vessel. After that time, 20.54 minutes were needed to reach equilibrium at which 10 successive measurements were successfully achieved with a standard deviation of < 0.05 mN/m.

There is a time dependence on the measured surface tension, with a decrease in time.

- Determination of the reference Item: 20.15 ± 0.01 mN/m (20 °C) for the platinum iridium ring Rl 21

- Validity Criteria: The temperature of the test solution was 20 ± 0.5 °C

Conclusions:
The surface tension of a 90% saturated aqueous solution of the test item at 20 °C was determined to be: 48.17 mN/m (standard deviation ± 0.05 mN/m).
Executive summary:

The surface tension of an aqueous solution with a concentration of 90% of the saturation concentration of the test item was determined according to OECD 115 and EC A.5 with the OECD harmonized ring method.

The determination was carried out with a tensiometer in ten successive measurements with a standard deviation < 0.05 mN/m at a temperature of 20 ± 0.5 °C.

The surface tension of a 90% saturated aqueous solution of the test item at 20 °C was determined to be: 48.17 mN/m (standard deviation ± 0.05 mN/m).Since the test item showed a surface tension lower than 60 mN/m under the conditions of this referring method, the test item should be regarded as being surface-active material.

Description of key information

The surface tension of an aqueous solution with a concentration of 90% of the saturation concentration of the test item was determined according to OECD Guideline 115 and EC Method A.5 with the OECD harmonized ring method.

The determination was carried out with a tensiometer in 10 successive measurements with a standard deviation < 0.05 mN/m at a temperature of 20 ± 0.5 °C. The surface tension of a 90% saturated aqueous solution of the test item at 20 °C was determined to be: 48.17 mN/m (standard deviation ± 0.05 mN/m). The test substance should be regarded as being surface-active.
