Justifications and discussions

Category definition:
The substances within this category consists of terpenes and terpenoids reaction products. These structurally related compounds, are present to a greater or lesser extent in every grade of material. The main constituents of all the category members share the same basic chemistry, primarily, consisting of trimers, dimers and other constituents. None of the non- specified constituents are present at concentration > 10 %. There is a high degree of similarity in the constituents of the whole category. It is therefore expected that the substances will act in in a very similar manner within biological systems as described in this document.
The substances of this category are obtained through a cationic reaction, or polymerization of terpenes employing Lewis acids as catalysts.

This category includes:
- Terpenes and terpenoids, turpentine oil, alpha-pinene fraction oligomers
- Reaction mass of Terpenes and terpenoids, turpentine-oil, alpha-pinene fraction, dimers and Terpenes and terpenoids, turpentine-oil, alpha-pinene fraction, trimers
- Reaction mass of Terpenes and terpenoids, turpentine-oil, beta -pinene fraction, dimers and Terpenes and terpenoids, turpentine-oil, beta -pinene fraction, trimers
- Reaction mass of Terpenes and Terpenoids, turpentine-oil, limonene fraction, 1-methyl-4-(1-methylethenyl)cyclohexene and turpentine-oil beta-pinene fraction terpenes, dimers and Terpenes and Terpenoids, turpentine-oil, limonene fraction, 1-methyl-4-(1-methylethenyl)cyclohexene and turpentine-oil beta-pinene fraction terpenes, trimers
