Details on test solutions:
The 100 mg/L WAF was prepared by adding a nominal 0.2 g of test substance (actual weight: 0.20008 g) to 2000 mL of test media. The control was treated the same without the addition of test substance.
The solutions were stirred for 24 hours and left to settle for approximately 1 hour 15 mins. Undissolved test substance was observed on the surface of the solution, on the sides and bottom of the vessel, in the outlet tube and a large amount was observed in the protruding vessel tap area. Fine particles of test substance were visible throughout the solution. The first ~100 mL drawn off the vessel went to waste to clear the outlet, followed by the water-soluble portion from the middle of the vessel. The solutions were higher than the test temperature due to stirring, so were cooled using an ice bath to a nominal temperature of 20°C.
