Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
not determinable
Remarks:
The burning rate test was not carried out because the substance did not ignite in the screening test

Any other information on results incl. tables

Safety pre-test:

The test item melted into a yellow-brown coloured liquid. The liquid burnt with yellow flame and much smoke was observed.

Preliminary screening test:

The test item melted into a yellow-brown coloured liquid. The liquid burned with a yellow flame, when it was kept in contact with the flame of the teclu burner, but no ignition occurred and no other signs for flammability were observed. Since no ignition witihin 2 minutes was observed, the test item should be classified as 'not highly flammable solid' and 'non-flammable solid'.

Burning rate experiment was not carried out.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
No ignition was observed throughout the course of the screening test. The test item should be considered as not flammable.
Executive summary:

This study is performed in order to determine the flammability of the test item according to EU method A.10 and UN method N1. The test item was heated with the flame of a gas burner for two minutes (screening test). No ignition was observed throughout the course of the test. Therefore, the test item is considered not to be a flammable solid.
