Conclusion on classification

Fish embryo toxicity and short-term toxicity studies in Daphnia and algae are available on the test substance and the Daphnia has been identified to be the most sensitive species. The lowest short-term 48h EC50 value from the Daphnia study was determined at 2.3 mg/L (measured) and the long-term equivalent NOEC value from the algae study was determined at 1. 5 mg/L (measured). Overall, based on the available results and considering that the substance is not readily biodegradable, ‘mono- and di- C16-18 PSE and C16-18 AE10 PSE’, warrants an ‘Aquatic Chronic 2; H411: Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects’ classification (based on 48 h EC50) according to the EU CLP criteria (Regulation 1272/2008/EC).
