Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Version / remarks:
The density of XP 475 could not be determined according to OECD 109 at a contracted testing facility because the sample was too viscous, readily formed a skin, and was not compatible with their equipment.
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The density of XP 475 was determined in duplicate by carefully transferring the substance into a calibrated pre-weighed 25 ml volumetric flask and then determining the weight of the sample in the flask. Prior to recording the weight of the sample, time was allowed to ensure:
• Any bubbles that were present in the liquid had escaped
• The sample temperature had equilibrated to 20⁰C in a calibrated temperature bath for 60 minutes.
• The sample was adjusted to the proper level in the flask
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
other: Accurate weighing of fixed amount of substance.
