Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Endpoint:
in vitro gene mutation study in bacteria
Type of information:
(Q)SAR
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Justification for type of information:
The QSAR study clearly predicted that TBUT would not demonstrate bacterial mutagenic behaviour which is also corroborated with weight of evidence when compared to other thiuram structural analogues such as disulfram (tetraethyl rather than tetrabutyl structural analog).

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Based on the DEREK Nexus QSAR study compared to Lhasa reference set of Ames test data the substance showed unclassified for gentxicity endpoints.
Executive summary:

QSAR studies predict no baterial mutagenicity behaviour and this is also correlates with other structurally similar compounds such as disulfram - CAS No. 97 -77 -8 (the diethyl thiuram analog).
