Additional information

The test substance, Formaldehyde, polymer with 1,3 -benzenedimethanamine and phenol has a PNEC of 20 ug/L for fresh water organisma and a PNEC of 2 ug/L for marine water organisma. High loading rates of > 30 mg/L may have an adverse impact on the operation of Sewage Treatment Plants.

Conclusion on classification

Because the test substance dose not readily biodegrade and has a low EC50 value of 20.4 mg/L under the EU CLP regulation the test substance is Category 3, "Hazardous to the Aquatic Environement" and H412, "Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects". Under the DSD the test substance is R52/R53, "Harmful to aquatic organisms, and May cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.
