Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The distribution in a sewage treatment plant (STP) has been estimated using the SimpleTreat model (implemented in EUSES 2.1.2/Chesar 3.0), see table below. The distribution calculation is performed for the parent, triethylsilane due to its slow hydrolysis.

Table: Distribution modelling for STP

Fraction of emission directed to air by STP

94.3

[%]

Fraction of emission directed to water by STP

5.09

[%]

Fraction of emission directed to sludge by STP

0.568

[%]

Fraction of the emission degraded in STP

Triethylsilane is not expected to undergo any significant biodegradation, and is predicted to have high Henry’s Law constant, moderate log Kow and low log Koc. Therefore, air is the main compartments to which it is expected to partition in a sewage treatment plant.
