Executive summary:

The water solubility of the test material "d-phenothrin pure active substance" has been tested according to the following guidelines: EU A.6 and OECD n. 105.

The test was performed twice using different elution flows: 12.5 mL/hour and 25 mL/hour, collecting the eluate for 2 and 1 hour, respectively.

The pH of distilled water and the pH of each fraction collected were measured to ensure the test article stability in water. Each water fraction was then extracted with 5 mL of hexane and analyzed using the GC operating conditions reported above.

The test was performed at 20 °C using water analytical grade. The water solubility found is < 5 µg/L.

Taking into consideration the functional groups in the d-phenothrin molecular structure, it is reasonable to conclude that a change in the temperature or pH value, give not to a significant variation on the water solubility value.
