Description of key information
With the shake-flask method a logPow of 2.42 was determined at pH 7 for MBT (Monsanto, 1980).

Additional information
SMBT is an organic salt of strong base NaOH and weak acid of MBT and sole marketed as aqueous solution with a base character. The presence of MBT determines the partition behaviour of the whole organic salt under environmental condition (pH 4 -9); and hence a read across approach is used as a worst case consideration.
