- Executive summary:
The vapor pressure of the test item has been determined at three temperatures using the vapor pressure balance method, designed to be compatible with OECD Guideline 104 and EU Method A.4 in compliance with GLP.
A preliminary run to provide additional information was performed which covered the temperature range 20 to 85 °C in 1 °C steps. Three definitive sequences of runs were performed at 25, 55, and 85 °C with a fresh sample of test item each time. For the preliminary run the test item had been under low vacuum for approximately 40 minutes and high vacuum for approximately 17 minutes. For the definitve sequence the test item had been under low vacuum for approximately 40 minutes and high vacuum for approximately 21 minutes.
As final results, the following vapour pressures have been determined:
25 °C: 6.27 x 10-3 Pa
55 °C: 1.51 x 10-2 Pa
85 °C: 7.24 x 10-2Pa

Discussion
The determination of the vapor pressure at 55 °C and 85 °C were included at the request of the Sponsor in addition to the temperature of 25 °C specified in the guideline. The test item did not show any significant changes in its appearance under the conditions of the test.
In the 85 °C test Run 8 was not used due to a possible shutter malfunction.
Conclusion
The vapor pressure of the test item has been determined at three temperatures and the results are as follows:
Temperature (°C) | Temperature (K) | Vapor Pressure (Pa) |
25 | 298 | 6.27x 10-3Pa |
55 | 328 | 1.51x 10-2Pa |
85 | 358 | 7.24x 10-2Pa |
Description of key information
The vapor pressure of the test item has been determined at three temperatures using the vapor pressure balance method, designed to be compatible with OECD Guideline 104 and EU Method A.4 in compliance with GLP (Tremain, 2015).
25 °C: 6.27 x 10 E-3 Pa
55 °C: 1.51 x 10E-2 Pa
85 °C: 7.24 x 10E-2 Pa
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Vapour pressure:
- 0.006 Pa
- at the temperature of:
- 25 °C
