Additional information

In an OECD 111 hydrolysis study, hydrolysis rates for the test material at a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L were determined in buffered solutions (pH 4, 7, and 9) at 50ºC. The test material consists of a mixture of highly branched tertiary alkyl amines with the C10, C11, and C12 components accounting for 99% of the total by weight. After five days incubation at 50.0 ± 0.0ºC, concentrations of each of the three components of the test material decreased ≤ 10% except for the C12 component under pH 4 (13%) and pH7 (13%) conditions. However, the small decreases in concentration measured at pH 4 and 7 (i.e. 13 and 13%) were shown to be due to incomplete dissolution of the C12 component in the initial stock solutions used to prepare the hydrolysis reaction mixtures. The test material is considered hydrolytically stable (half-life at 25ºC > 1 year) at pH 4, 7, and 9 based on the OECD test guidelines.
