Description of key information

A short term toxicity test with rainbow trout (O. mykiss) exposed to the test material and conducted under GLP and following OECD TG 203 resulted in 96-hour LC50 value of 1.3 mg/L.

Additional information

Two acute freshwater fish studies were available for the test material  and assessed for this endpoint. One study was conducted with rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), while the other study was conducted with bluegill sunfish (Lepomis machrochirus). Both studies were found to be of good quality and each assigned a Klimisch score of two. The studies were conducted for 96 -hours under static conditions and followed standard test guidelines; the trout study was also conducted under GLP. The studies concluded that the 96 -hour LC50 value for the trout and bluegill were 1.3 mg/L and 1.4 mg/L, respectively. Since these toxicity results were from studies with different fish species, the lower of the two values (1.3 mg/L) was selected as the key parameter for this endpoint.
