Any other information on results incl. tables

Thermal sensitivity (effect of flame)

None of the six tests (three of them with the 6 mm orifice plate and the remaining with the

2 mm orifice plate) gave rise to explosion or breaking of any tube.

In the three tests with the 6 mm orifice plate the following phenomena were observed:

a flame generation began in the test chamber after about 26 seconds with a formation of light

smokes and sparks; the intense phase started after about 199 seconds and ended after

about 232 seconds.

In the three tests with the 2 mm orifice plate similar phenomena to 6 mm orifice plate were

observed. The test result is considered negative.

Mechanical sensitivity (effect of shock)

No ignition, explosion or decomposition was obtained during the series of six tests at 40 J

performed on the test item (bursting into flame and/or a report is equivalent to explosion).

The test result is considered negative.

Mechanical sensitivity (effect of friction)

No explosion was obtained during the series of six tests performed with 360 N loading on the

test item (crackling and/or a report or busting into flame are equivalent to explosion).

The test result is considered negative.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
From the experimental data obtained according to A.14 method in Council Regulation (EC)
No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, it can be concluded that the BETA-METHYLEPOXY sample
does not present explosive properties.
