Biodegradation in water: screening test
In a manometric respirometry test, the read-across substance Reaction mass of trans-5-hexyldihydro-4-methylfuran-2(3H)-one and cis-5-hexyldihydro-4-methylfuran-2(3H)-one showed 82% biodegradation within 28 days indicating that the read-across substance is readily biodegradable.
