Description of key information
Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
In a 48 h static toxicity test with the read-across substance Reaction mass of trans-5-hexyldihydro-4-methylfuran-2(3H)-one and cis-5-hexyldihydro-4-methylfuran-2(3H)-one using Daphnia magna the EC50 value based on mobility was found to be 2.98 mg/L (geom. mean measured concentration).
Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria
The toxicity of the test item to the freshwater green algae Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was determined in a test according to OECD guideline 201. The test revealed an EC50 value of 29.5 mg/L, an EC10 value of 4.36 mg/L and a NOEC of 0.825 mg/L. The values are based on the growth rate.
