Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Biodegradation = 30-40 % CO2 Evolution test(OECD 301B)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

Ready biodegradability was tested on similar substance following OECD 301 B. The biodegradation resulted to be between 30 and 40 % in the CO2 evolution test and this values correspond to the results: "not readily biodegradable".
This results were confirmed by the estimation of ready biodegradability on Acid Yellow 23.

Based on the above considerations, Acid Yellow 23 could be considered as not readily biodegradable.
