Additional information

2 -Propylheptyl methacrylate did not show any toxicity in the range of water solubility in acute toxicity tests with fish, daphnia and algae. The acute EC/LC50 values for fish, aqutic invertebrates and algae are > 100 mg/L nominal.

Toxicity to fish

In the short term toxicity test to fish the LC50 value of the test substnce, 2 -Propylheptyl methacrylate based on the loading rate was determined to be >0.055 mg/L (measured), >100 mg/L (nominal).

Toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

In a 48-hour acute toxicity study, neonate Daphnia magna were exposed to 2 -Propylheptyl methacrylate in accordance with the OECD 202 guideline. The LC50 was > 0.153 mg/L (measured), >100 mg/L (nominal)

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

In a 72-hour algal growth study, cultures of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata were exposed to 2-Propylheptyl methacrylate under static conditions for in accordance with the OECD 201 guideline. The growth rate EC50 and EC10 were >0.110 mg/L (measured), >100 mg/L (nominal)

Toxicity to microorganisms

In the toxicity to microorganisms test the EC50 value of the test substance, 2 -Propylheptyl methacrylate is determined to be greater than 1000 mg/L.
