Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Stability:

According to Kollig et al. (1993), Boethling & Mackay (2000) and Harris (1990), the test substance is generally resistant to hydrolysis because it does not contain any labile functional groups. Therefore, no study on hydrolysis is performed.

Biodegradation:

Two guideline-conform studies on biodegradation are available. The 1996 study on ready biodegradability via the manostatic respirometry method (OCED 301F) revealed only 9% degradation after 28 days, thus clearly failing the ready biodegradability criteria. The 1989 Zahn-Wellens-Test (OECD 302 B) revealed a degree of degradation of 70% after 28 days, indicating that the test item can be considered as inherently biodegradable.

Transport and distribution:

Study on adsorption/desorption waived based on estimated low log Kow of 1.48. Supporting Koc QSAR data derived from EPI Suite by the First Order Molecular Connectivity Index (log Koc = 1.42) and by the log Kow method (log Koc = 1.56) are very coherent. All available evidence therefore suggests that the substance can be classified as mobile in the environment. The higher of these two values of log Koc = 1.56 shall be used for chemical risk assessment.
